My name is Chief Julietta Ofuyeta I'm the Chairperson of the association of tourism practitioners of Nigeria Atpn Fct Abuja Chapter.
this year's theme is ' Tourism and Sustainable transformation '
This theme is particularly relevant as the tourism sector continues to recover and adapt to global challenges such as climate change and pandemic . There will be a need for the sector to adopt sustainable practices , reduce it's environmental impact and promote cultural preservation.
We can key into this by minimizing pollution through sensitizing people about it, using renewable energy, reducing waste and conserving water .
Also , we should promote and value our local customs , traditions and heritage by promoting and advocating for our cultural heritage. In this light we should support our local economy by supporting local businesses and promoting employment and sustainable livelihood through the sector.
